If you love nature and its wildlife we suggest you to visit the Forillon national park just by our establishment, it shelters various and easy to observe species of wildlife, like seals and different whale species, such as fin whales, minke whales, and Atlantic white-sided dolphins.
The black bear, the moose and the pork pine. Also important colonies of seabirds, for example, the double-crested cormorant, the black-legged Kittiwake gull, the gannets and the Razorbill. International Appalachian Trail
The great region of the Gaspe will make nature hiking lovers happy.
You will find a multitude of hiking trail networks covering the mountains, plateaus, shores and valleys. According to your physical fitness, your expeditions may last days, even weeks. All the paths offer you splendid landscapes, adorned with wild and appealing flora.
For your nature hikes, many parks propose different trails allowing you to discover the entire Gaspesian splendour.
In our sector, we have Canada’s National Park Forillon. About ten trails criss-cross the park. You will have access to fabulous observation points. You will travel across multi-levels up to 500 m. These trails are also part of the International Appalachian Trail (IAT). If you take the International Appalachian Trail (IAT), the highest point of attraction, the Mount St. Alban tower, will give you an unforgettable point of view; almost the whole Forillon Park will unfold before your eyes, the Cap-Des-Rosiers lighthouse and on the horizon, the Percé Rock and Bonaventure Island.
The Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé National Park is located at about 1 h 15 from our establishment. It is known as the paradise of the famous Gannet colony. Boat excursions around the island will allow you to admire the famous rock, up close. You will also be able, if you wish, to disembark onto the island to contemplate the gannets in the natural habitat.
